Help Really sad dropped my DHD

Hi Everyone,

I have always looked after my phone but dropped it last night from pocket height and it fell onto concrete face down. I turned it over and the screen is cracked. It seems to be working okay the screen looks fine apart from the cracks. I have covered it in cling film. I just want to fixed it fast so that I can forget about it but I have heard that HTC in the UK can take ages to make repairs. I'm also pretty handy with electronics. Does anyone have similar experiences and help?

Cheers Richie

Hello and welcome to the forums Richie - thanks for joining!

Sorry to hear that your phone is broken... it's always a pain when something like this happens!

I understand what you're talking about when you say that you want to have it back ASAP... I remember that HTC were taking a long time to fix things, but I'm not sure if that was while they were relocating... I don't think it's such an issue any more.

Although you say you're handy with electronics, I would still be wary doing the repair yourself, as it would not be covered by the warrantee that HTC offer, as they would be able to tell that they hadn't done the work, so you could end up regretting it at a later stage!

If you do want to go for it, let me know - I'm sure I can dig out some info on it for you!

Thanks for the advice I had a look at some of the disassembly videos and in the end I bottled it and decided to send it to HTC. So they collect it tomorrow hopefully I'll get it back next week. Again thanks for the advice.

Cheers Richie

No worries dude... I would generally suggest letting HTC do it... as any work that they do is covered by their warranty.

Hope you get it back soon - let us know that this did solve your issues!!

Sorry to hear that dude, I have recently had my DHD repaired at HTC and it took less than a week and that included a lot of internal parts to be replaced.

Hope that helps fella.
