My A500's rear (main) camera has been exhibiting some really, really odd behavior lately, and it
changes when the device is rebooted. It has to do with color noise in both the preview and the
final image. On the left 1/3 of the image, in ALL white balance modes EXCEPT incandescent
(where it works fine), there is either a pinkish tint, a bluish tint, or a red tint that looks like random
noise (only the red does this bit). Other times (like this reboot), it works fine in all WB modes.
I contacted Acer, and they gave me their one and only response: hard reset. I responded that
if that's going to be their standard response, then I REQUIRE instructions on how to back up
all apps, all apps settings, and all Android settings, so reloading only takes as long as it takes
to restore from the backup (minutes, not hours or worse on both ends of the reset).
Does anyone know what might be causing this, and how to fix it without the mickeysoft
solution (uhhhh, yeah, ummm, just reset...that'll fix it)? And if I am forced to reset, does
anyone know a way (Android 3.2.1, latest OTA) to do a *COMPLETE* backup
without rooting (or, a way to root and then unroot without leaving a trace that would
void my warranty)?
