reason to NOT buy from GAMELOFT

So - I have a question.

I recently asked about backing up installers without rooting (something I do for my PC software). I wanted the option to reinstall software should I need to factory reset or switch phones.

It seems fairly easy to copy the installer and back it up to a PC.

Why wouldn't/doesn't this work for Gameloft games?

It does work. The easiest way I find to do something like this without being rooted is to download the Gameloft games on a pc and you get a copy of the apk. Now I'm not sure if it was just because the new phone had the same phone number as my old one, since I switched, but the apk I saved installed just fine to my new phone.

Secondly, since I wasn't using my old phone, I gave it to my sister and wiped it clean. I then reinstalled a couple Gameloft games on it, and they play just fine.

So you can backup copies of Gameloft games.

You don't need to be rooted and you don't need a pc for this. The apks are sitting in your download folder on your sd card and you can copy them wherever you like, I usually push them to dropbox.

Unless you are downloading them from the Market since there are some Gameloft games there now, but otherwise yes this is true also.
