Picture an invisible man that just lost his memory and doesn't know what he is but he puts on his boots first then pulls on his overalls like the firemen have and dresses from the bottom up. When you boot up a computer it doesn't know its a computer till it loads up the operating system and "learns" it has a disk and display screen keyboard usb port and so on. The process starts with the basics like input/output or boots in the case of the man, you have to learn to walk before you run. Then you learn your ABC's or filesystem as it were. Good luck
