Root Rebooting Issues

I've had this phone two weeks now. It received and installed OK the MS910ZVB update an hour later I switched from my Ascend.
It's still rebooting randomly, sometimes a couple times a day but sometimes three or four times AN HOUR!... I've un-rooted, Factory Reset, removed the external MicroSD card, Factory Reset again... nothing works. It has rebooted while calling, sending or receiving MMS and SMS, while connected to WIFI or 4G internet...

The only thing I have not done is the PRL update, still has the 3019.

Is everybody else having the same issue? Is calling for a replacement phone a solution?

Thanks!

sounds like an app issue.....

certain places in your system folder arnt effected by a hard reset...

For example if i removed my lghome.apk and replace it with another launcher in my system / apps folder. If i hard reset, the new launcher will auto reinstall on a hard reset.

Thats one risk you run on a rooted phone, some rooted apps will make PERMANENT changes , regardless of a hard reset.

Sounds like you got a bug and it is causing random reboots, just like windows Blue screen of death or random crashes in windows.

You need to use root explorer to browser your system folder and see if you see anything that does not belong.

it would be very rare that a hardware problem is causing this.

You can also install a Ftp server from the app market, and connect to it via wifi to browse your system folder. (must be rooted to do this)

Just to inform!!
Just make sure that the rebooting issue is not coming from an app. you have installed.

I had installed Delayed Lock and the app was causing my phone to reboot and also freezing at times.

VM Heap size of 32 or lower will also make it reboot often. The lower the value, the more often the reboots.

It is not an app issue... when I rooted I did not removed anything, only froze Easy WIFI, VC Pay, Metro 411, MetroWeb and MyMetro. I have Launcher Pro as my default launcher but never deleted the standard one.

So I un-rooted, reinstalled the Metro Apps and let it run without any of my apps. I even stayed on the boring standard launcher for a while... All of a sudden, again, rebooting. I've seen a pattern. It is really bad between 6 and 8 pm and from 7 to 10 am. In the Esteem forum I saw somebody saying that the rebooting was caused by the 4G network...

I am taking it to a service center today and try to get it replaced.

By any chance, does any of you guys have the original MetroPCS_Poweron.MP3 file? I used the LCARS sound but never made a backup.

Thanks for your help!
