Root Rebooting randomly!

Hi all, I recently carried out root using AAHK and then flashed this ROM http://db.tt/71wHEg87 onto my DHD. All went well and i carried out all the prep mentioned in the effen manual, only my DHD now reboots when it feels like it? I have noticed it does it more when using an app that really uses the CPU, like (and forgive me for mentioning this) Facebook! Has anyone come across this before or know what the problem may be please? Thanks, Martin.

Moved to root section.

That's not a ROM you flashed per se, it's an RUU (a tool to get back to stock firmware).

Did you run it and did it work successfully? I imagine you've not gone back to stock unrooted firmware. Can you go into the bootloader and give us the information that shows up? (E.g PVT ENG SHIP S-OFF[ON] etc)

Any ROM from here is fine, are you looking for a Sense ROM or AOSP ('Vanilla' Android) in particular?

Hi guys and thanks for your replies. Sorry my mistake i did realise it was an RUU I flashed and not a ROM, but i did run it and it worked successfully. Originally i wanted to go back to stock so i could receive the ICS update, but being that it's not going to happen for the DHD now it doesn't matter. I would like a sense ROM i think, i'm not really bothered about rooting at this stage as i would like to be able to get updates. I'm still learning really so please bare with me :o. If i can stop the rebooting and just have a good ROM to use i will be happy:D.

Here is the info you asked for.

ACE PVT SHIP S-OFF RL
HBOOT-2.00.0027

Many thanks, Martin.

hmmm, that doesnt soound good. you might try doing a factory data reset in hboot, and then run the ruu again.

if your experiencing frequent reboots on completely stock software and firmware, that can be an indicator of coming hardware failure, depending on their frequency.

if the reboots are just occasional, you may just have an app thats not cooperating with the rest of your OS

as far as updates, the ruu you ran is for the latest sense 3.0 unbranded software,so if updates come from htc to unbranded devices, you should get them.

Hi scotty85, the reboots are just occasional at the moment and tends to only happen while using a demanding app like facebook. I will give the reset a go in hboot and see how it goes. Thanks, Martin.

Ok, factory data reset done and the RUU run again on my device............so far so good

. If there is any change i will write an update here but up to now thanks for the advice scotty85.

Cheers guys, Martin.

do you have alot of apps installed on your phone? maybe it is a lack of memory,or a bad app somewhere that is casuing your prollems. alot of different apps interact with facebook.

if the reboots are happening when using certain apps,i would not think the issue to be hardware related.

if you do have alot of apps, you may try thinnning them out. just keep a small handful of ones you really cant live without and see how it goes for a bit. if the reboots stop, you can try slowly adding other ones back and see when the reboots start back up.

Sound advice... if you remove your apps and add them one at a time, you would be able to see if there's a rogue app causing you nightmares!! :)

Hi guys, i only have a small ammount of apps really so it shouldn't be too hard a process of elimination. It seems to be whenever i am using or have used Facebook. I will do as you have suggested and see if i can catch the monkey! Cheers, Martin.
