Rebooting Solved, New update looks solid

My reboot fix came with the first MR2 leaked update. It also had lots of Verizon bloat on it. Downloading the new update and going to see how much better it is. As it wont do it with the OTA.

I'll know at 1:30PM tonight if my reboots are resolved. I get 4-7 reboots at my work consistently. So am looking forwad to checking it out.

No reboots for the wife yet. She was getting 5-6 a day on average. The 3G/4G notification changed, that seems like an odd thing to adjust.

My Verizon app works now. That's nice. Extra bloatware though, b@stards.

It LOOK LIKE (But I won't swear) that the GPS locks quicker. I'm pretty sure that there was an update fairly recently to Google Maps which was supposidely a contributing factor.

So far - I'm happy! It's not GingerBread - but - no reboots yet!

Is there an official version of this update I can download? I downloaded the MR2 update prior but now, my text messages lag BAD and my phone doesn't vibrate when its suppose to.

Any help is appreciated. Tnx.

it might to early to tell for most, but any sense that battery life is improved with this update? i'd imagine just rebooting less alone would improve battery life.

I know there is a link over in the rooted section for people not rooted. Whew I downloaded it at.

I've had the messaging app lag so much the only thing I could do to fix it was turn the screen off and on again.

Never-mind, the wife's phone has already rebooted twice. POS.

@Dark Jedi, did you download the official MR2 update? I saw that you had installed the leaked MR2. Did you notice any difference between the leaked and official update?

Dont know why so many people have this problem with reboots. I'm on my second TB so far and neither on of them had any reboot problems. A couple of my friends & business associates have them and another consultant and none of them have had this issue either (I asked). Could it be some common app people have or the fact they are rooted that casues this?

Most of it seems to be the same visually. Somethings I noticed is that gps now locks in my apt. And going from WiFi to Mobil data the 3G comes back on very quick. Seems to load apps faster. So far I have not gotten the keyboard lag. I will test it more as only had it for one day. Everything seems good and battery life seems better over the leak bit i always had good battery life.

I like the update the phone seems very stable. Granted everyone's results will probably vary.

Just because you was one of the lucky ones not to have the reboots. That doesn't mean everyone else's phone should be like yours. I had 2 bolts the first one I did the update and got the reboot bug. Got my second one and did the update right off the bat and no apps added and it would reboot twice during the day. So its not an app. Verizon and HTC both said it was the update that caused the reboot issue. It dont affect every phone like yours. It still does affect some of the phones out there.

So just because your phone don't reboot. That means everyone else's shouldn't either just because you think they shouldnt? Just consider yourself lucky and move on.;)

I think it may be a large batch of bad phones? Just guessing of course...but for example, I never had any random reboots with my first Thunderbolt, but due to several other problems with it I had to return it, and this 2nd one I received has rebooted itself several times a day (none so far today though since the update last night (keeping my fingers crossed)...

Anyway, it is a well documented problem acknowledged by HTC itself...so I'm just happy they fixed it, no matter what the problem was... (I'm not rooted, and no different apps on this 2nd phone with the reboot issue than was on the first Thunderbolt that did not have the reboot issue...

Now bring on the Gingerbread and the video chat!

Verizon doesn't know why either.

The common app theory is correct, and the app is called Thunderbolt.
