Rebooting with Widgetsoid

I can't get this to work. SuperSU grants it permission, and when I click on the widget the toast says it will reboot, but nothing happens. Same thing with the rest of the choices except Hot Reboot which claims 'only for root users'. Huh?

The phone is still S-ON. Does that make a difference? Does Widgetsoid need to be installed as a system app?

Hi Bruce,

Can you try installing a different rebooter app such as Quick Reboot to see if it will work with that? This might help us determine whether it's an app problem, a rom problem, or something else.

Brian, I can get Tasker to do it using Secure Settings. So I created a task that puts up a menu with the three options: Normal, Recovery, and Bootloader. All three work great.

Do you have a backup of your apps via Titanium Backup or something similar?

I've not used wigetsoid but I assume you have some customization there you wouldn't want to lose?

First thing I would try (you won't lose any data) is boot into your recovery and wipe cache and dalvik. See if your problem goes away.

Another thing you could try, if that doesn't work, would be clearing the app data through the app manager in your settings menu. If that doesn't help, you could try to un-install and re-install the app.

I would backup the app data though before doing this, in case it doesn't solve the issue.

Yes, I use Titanium for backup. I've only been rooted for a couple of weeks, so I'm still learning. I'll try the things you suggest and see where that gets me. Thanks.
