Help Rebooting

Hi

Ive been having trouble accessing the Android Market for a while. Ive been in touch with the Market and they advise me to uninstall the updates ive had, followed by a reboot. Is this just a matter of turning the phone off and on or something a little more involved? If I do a reboot will a loose the apps Ive downloaded or will it mess with things like my contacts etc?

rebooting = turn off then turn on

nothing is lost, you're allowed to turn off your phone!

the other trick that often works with market issues is to go into manage apps and wipe data/cache for that app

Hi Sydney

Thanks for the help. I know you can turn the phone on/off but just wanted to clarify whether a "reboot" was just that or whether it was more like a "hard reset".

I was also advised to do the "clear cache" thing but that didnt work either.

Unfortunately the latest version was also causing me problems???. Ive deleted all the up dates as suggested and this seems to be working. Currently!

My new market updated by itself but only happened after I updated some of the apps (from market as well) already pre installed on my device.

Actually the new market you are talking about is the one that the market itself updated. To get the current latest version, you need to download the APK files yourself and update yourself. Version 3.1.11 (I think).

That's the one that's less buggy. Go to the link that Sydney99 helpfully place in this thread.

Cheers
