Recalibrating the battery

Well I've been trying to recalibrate my battery since it hasn't been too great however I'm unable to get it to stick at 100% for more than 30 seconds.
I fully charge it and it reaches 100% and as soon as I plug it, it goes back down to 98%, I'm told its because the cells aren't balanced.. I thought these methods would correct that problem.

Method #1(Yes I know that's in evo forums I was told to try that):

Battery problem, try this. - xda-developers

Method #2:

1. Phone is on. Charge untill told to unplug charger.
2. Unplug charger and turn off phone.
3. Plug in charger and charge until phone beeps (about 1-5 minutes)
4. Unplug charger and turn on phone
5. Charge to 100% again (1-5 minutes)
6. Unplug charger and reboot.
7. All done! Enjoy a new battery.

Any advice would be nice, thanks.
