Root Received a refurbed phone today..with GB

Was having serious problems with the hardware on my first DX.. I had Froyo rooted, with stock rom.

The refurbed I received is on GB. I don't want.. I want rooted froyo, for tethering, etc. Its 2.3.3, Kernel 2.6.32.9-g34b306d. Build 4.5.1_57_DX5-32

Do I follow the same steps as this link to get back to froyo? And just ignore the GB steps?

Does this link have the froyo system files somewhere? is it built on to the SBF ISO?

havent dont the CD linux SBF but I understand its the smooth way to get it done. You need to SBF back to .340 and then root your phone and you should have what you are after.
