Received Desire from Mobilephonedirect.com ??

Read on one of the forums that they'd changed the website to "in stock", but when they called they weren't, can't remember which one, might have been AVforums.
 
I have had mine on order since the 12th of march and 3 days ago it showed in stock on their website i rang and was told first come first serve so was hoping I would get one quite quickly,

but i was always prepared fpr the phone to arrive around the 5th as thats was the date on the website when it changed from the 29th march so its all good after all theres not much you can do but wait :rolleyes:
 
yep, i emailed them and they replyed that they will start sending tuesday, wednesday next week even though i ordered a month ago i doesn't matter as they just got them back from suppliers as they had to reflash the ROM to the newest approved by google
 
I had the same thing with mobiles.co.uk - the website said it was in stock but when i called they said it was out of stock and was a first come first served basis but they were dealing with all pre orders first.
 
I was thinking of getting the Desire from MPD, but does anyone to know if the phones from here come SIM locked and branded?

Im thinking of getting one on the T-Mob contract but i dont want the T-Mob ROM installed.
 
Hi I spoke to a lady live chat on the website and asked this she said they came unlocked and unbranded to me,

I suppose the proof will be in the receiving.....eventually :p

Yea i guess i will have to wait and see what it actually is when everyone else gets there's sent to them!
 
Anyone got theirs yet? Holy shit, it's already monday and i ain't heard nothing from them. Try to call them but got answering machine all the time. No reply for emails..
 
hi, i spoke to a guy on thursday and he said handsets will be sent out tuesday so expect delivery on weds, stock outweighs pre-orders so will defo get one and it will be sim free and unlocked, it comes with 4gb card and in car charger and also the site now says in stock.... the only thing i forgot to ask was what happens if it develops a fault within 18months (contract length) who do you return it to, MPD or T-MOB, need to find this out........
 
I shall be placing my order for the T-Mobile PAYG one at some point today, I'll be chuffed if I receive it before Friday.
 
Apparently the UK is suffering from unexpectedly high demand for the Desire, so I'd expect you guys to be waiting until at least the middle of next week.
 
Kind of worked in my favour as I needed to cancel during the pending stock phase. Cant be having a 18 month contract when you are moving country ;)
 
just called them and said they have some kind of "issues" with the stock and if I don't receive it by friday, that I can give them a call back.

But the specifically put on their website

"order before 3pm for next day delivery"

What the **** was that suppose to mean???
I feel like suing them.
 
Hmmm, Just got told that should receive it within 7 days. First time I have ever purchased a phone online... has not really left a good taste in my mouth.

I have tomorrow off work too (waiting on a new washing machine) Really thought/hoped I would have the Desire to tinker about with while waiting in :-(
