Received your replacement note? Post here!

Nice! I checked the website again and got this:

Congratulations! Your submission has been approved and your gift has been processed and is currently in route.

No tracking number yet, but it's nice to know that the two Gear VRs are going to pass each other, going opposite directions :D

EDIT: I just got the tracking number... it should be here TOMORROW! WOO HOO!

EDIT 2: The message also says THIS:

Remember that your Oculus content bonus is available as a digital download from the Oculus store.

I suppose that'll be a bunch of driving and shooting games, neither of which I play. I'd much prefer to have the equivalent credits to get whatever content I want... oh well...

I checked the status of mine via the online checker and it says it's currently in route. No tracking yet. But excited for it to arrive now and try it out.

FedEx has my tracking number and shows estimated delivery date of 10/07.

Go figure! I brought this to everybody's attention, yet my status still is at

Submission Approved. Preparing for Shipment.

Well, glad to see that you all have confirmation of the gift actually shipping. Did you all get the Gear VR?

Just got the call from my Sprint Store and they have my replacement in (I guess calling everyday works). On my way to have it swapped out.

For those of you that received confirmation on your free gift shipping, did you all get your replacement on the 21st? Reason I ask is, my friend made an astute observation (that I didn't even think of, but logically should have). The date of shipment for the free gift is likely on the 15th day (1 day past the standard 14 day return timeframe). So, my 15th day would technically be this Saturday!

Either way, I'm glad to see that Samsung is granting more free gifts to all those that have suffered through this recall/replacement ordeal, but still stuck around to keep the phone.

Someone at Samsung who handles the emails must be lazy and or busy lately because I still haven't gotten any tracking but yet I go onto the Samsung website and check the status and it displays a tracking number which I check and it should be arriving anytime now as I post this. Yes I chose the Gear Vr.

I found my tracking number at Fedex the day before Samsung officially emailed me. You could check there. Mine also says the expected delivery date is tomorrow but it hasn't actually arrived at Fedex yet. They just have the tracking number so my expectations of receiving it this week are low.

@drexappeal I actually had to wait until the 24th for my Note 7. Lucky me and my STOOPID decision to buy it at Sam's Club!

Well, chief, it's all a matter of perspective. Without the recall, it wouldn't have been stupid, cuz that deal was one of the best available at launch.

That said, I guess that throws out my theory that the item was set up for shipping after the 15th day from purchase.

I checked Fedex and nothing there. I'm not in a rush to get it though. As long as they have my correct address and they ship to me, it's totally fine.

I retract from my previous statement. Didn't receive Anthony yesterday. Tracking was updated and it shows movement now. Today is the arrival day. Oh well.

I'm really hoping that the incident, on the Southwest flight with a "replacement" Note7, is determined to be an isolated incident. It was already confirmed to be an AT&T variant. If there's a second recall on this device, I think I may just give up and move on. As much as I really love what they've done with this device overall, the amount of time wasted on the initial recall will no longer be worth going through it a second time around. Especially in my situation this time, where I didn't purchase from T-Mobile directly and purchased from a 3rd party retailer. I was perfectly happy with the Mate 8 as my daily driver, so I have no problem going back, if necessary.

Someone like a moderator should split this second gift talk thing off to its own thread because it's not what the original post is about but with that being said I just received my gear vr in the mail 1 minute ago. So now it's real that I got a second free gift.

Well, on the topic of replacement Note 7s, I'm very concerned that Samsung may be facing a SECOND Note 7 recall. If that happens, we'll be torn with a decision: trade in our Note 7s for an obviously inferior model... or keep the phone anyway, knowing that the resale value will be extremely low. Either option is one I'd rather not choose.

I never really thought there was anything wrong with my first one. I never got warm. This one doesn't either. So maybe it was just an isolated incident. Fingers and toes crossed and possibly eyes too if you can!

Received two weeks ago from Sam's Club a AT&T Note 7 with no problems so far. The Smart Switch app is of no help because I had to turn in my old Note 7 before receipt of the replacement Note 7.

I tried to save everything to the cloud, but there is no Samsung Cloud on AT&T Note 7, only Google cloud, but no one told me. This whole thing has been a real pain in the ass and I don't know where my $25. credit is going to show up either.

I can't think of a better smartphone out there. Can anybody think of a better smartphone?

I think the term "better" is all relative. In my opinion, it's the best readily available in the US. I think the S-Pen will always give the Note series an edge, as far as productivity is concerned. Many reviews understate how great it is to have the S-pen, especially with how Samsung has brought it to where it is nowadays (on the Note7). That said, getting the general consumer to learn the ins and outs of using the S-Pen is a whole different ballgame and majority of the regular consumers out there just don't want to take the time to learn.

I will say, now that I'm using it as my daily driver (personal phone), I almost feel like the Mate 8 is a little smoother overall (likely due to some of the bloatware and some of the features on the Note 7). I initially turned off stock animations on the Note7, but it made the pop-ups in apps like My Files, go a little haywire (where it wasn't showing selections on where I wanted to move files on a copy/paste scenario). In any event, battery life also isn't anywhere near where the Mate 8 is. Now, if you factor in other things that are definitely above the Mate 8, I'd say the Note 7 is better overall.

But, for those on a GSM provider like ATT or on T-Mobile, I think the Mate 8 is way underrated and understated by the media, so the upcoming Mate 9 should be one to pay attention to. And for those wondering if the Chinese Mate 8 (the one I've owned for 3/4 of a year) has the LTE bands, it's 100% compatible with T-Mobile and I believe only missing one of ATT's LTE bands (e.g. 3/4 present).

IMHO, if you can't get on an airplane with your replacement Note 7 it's pretty much a non-starter, i.e. as much as I love it it's gotta go.

I've got a Pixel XL on order so I may at least try it out for two weeks.

I love this phone and have enjoyed my experiences with it, even from my version 1 device. That said, if there's another recall on the device, I hope compensation is more than just a full refund and I hope that it's not a pain in the butt process like the first time around.

Only thing for me is that I had purchased from a 3rd party retailer. If there's an official recall on the device, again, I'm assuming Samsung then would have to accept a return for refund, in my case? This entire situation has been so unfortunate. I can't imagine that they'll recall the device and then re-release a "version 3." I don't know that the carriers would even want to deal with it at that point.

Maybe they just cut their losses, and focus in on the "Note 8", which they'll have to re-branding the line to the Galaxy S w/ S-Pen, just to eliminate all doubt from the general consumers minds. Note line is going to suffer from guilt, by association from now on.
