Recent OTA update question

My Droid is rooted, but i saw the recent OTA update thats supposedly a "patch away" from 2.1 but when i check for updates it says my phone is up to date. Is this because im rooted that i cant update? If so what do i need to do to get the update? Thanks

I just want to make sure the 2.1 OTA update (whever it does come out) goes smoothly and as its supposed to. I have the 2.1 gallery/music player

I kinda don't understand your question. You have 2.0.1. That is the latest firmware. 2.1 hasn't been released yet, as far as I know.

Do you have a nandroid backup of your DROID?

I agree with many when I call Shennanigans on that update. I am NOT rooted and always get app updates and such and I have seen nothing.
I wouldn't worry about it, just sit tight until the 22nd and MAYBE we will all wake up to a nice update :)
Well, I will since I am not rooted.

Do rooted phones not get OTA updates?

Many people who root disable the OTA function because it can brick a rooted phone if one goes through unknowingly - (to paraphrase JoeDroid)
