Root Recently Rooted, "device not qualified for bootloader unlock."

Realitynh

Newbie
Hey guys (and girls),
I'm new to forum and newly rooted with Titanium backup and Safestrap. Recently downloaded ROM Toolbox Pro and understand that I can't do much with unlocking my bootloader. I know that the true potential is after this step so I'm eager to find a way. Anything I can do for now to have some fun with this thing? Just claiming my seat, lookin' for input - thanx.

If you bought the dev version from moto direct, you should call them up.

If you bought it from vzw/amazon/BB...basically if not the dev version, which is only avail from moto, you can't unlock it.

This is only for like 10 people on the planet, as the masses have a locked one, and there's no reason for an unlocked one.

thanx for the response. Hope something pops up. Do you know if I can do anything without unlocking it other than the root-only available apps?

you can install Moto based ROMs on the device until a workaround is found. The Droid X had the work around with 2init, it is possible the HD can have the same thing. just have to wait and take time to see which developers are working on it

Forgive me, but what are some examples of roms that will work on my xt926 (non-dev) without an unlocked bootloader?

You must be on Jelly Bean for it to install. You safestrapped and all of that stuff?

EDIT: While we're on the subject of ROMs, CM10 Alpha released for non-dev version as well. Only a matter of time till it's fully functional now.

I have to be on jb? I'm confused and yes, everything is backed up and I'm using slots on safestrap. I waited a half hour.

Everything is backed up on safestrap, used ROM slot 1 for ROM, waited a half hour after install/reboot. Clear cache, data post install too? I dint have jb nor can I get it.

Yes your stock slot must be on JB. There was a lot of fuss over it on the thread because nobody was really sure. You can download the leak from a month ago and install it using the stock recovery.

Well your stock system should be on Jelly Bean. That seems to be the only way everybody else got it working. Then make the backup and restore it onto rom slot 1, and install Vitreous over that along with the gapps.

Got it, but now I can't find the leak .zip anywhere online.

Don't have one anymore but you should be able to find it in the forum below. I personally don't have an account there so I can't check if its still up, but you'll need to register to download it.

Jelly Bean Leak [9.1.39Xt926.verizon.en.us] - DroidRzr.com

EDIT: Also I should point out that the JB soak tests are starting. We might get the official Jelly Bean update soon. Might not even be worth installing that leak at this point.

Alright, I've got the leak onto my sd card, did a reboot (non-safestrap) and attempted install. I got

assert failed: apply_patch_check("system/bin/logwrapper". etc...

Any ideas?
I unrooted, saved root thru voodoo, thought everything else was "stock."

Did you use the crc file?

I personally didn't have a usable SD card so I moved it onto my cache. Can be accessed via root explorer at /cache. Just move the file into there.

I rooted my phone and installed SS, voodoo, etc. Are these modifications preventing the JB leak install? I'm getting an "assert failed: apply_patch_check("/system/bin/logwrapper")E:Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip

any ideas?

The CRC file is in that link, you just download it and put it on the root of your sd card with the update. I'm pretty sure those modifications wont stop you from being able to update though.

I did little research and found out that due to the fact that I changed my boot animation thru rom toolbox (framework), I can't complete the install. Now, I have already deleted the toolbox app in an attempt to revert to stock but the animation change has remained. This is a tricky one but I need to know how to get my framework files back to stock...
