Help Reception issues?

DX2 is not a bad choice at this point. But what about 3~4 months later? By that time more powerful dual core beasts like SGSII will be out and most 4G glitches on VZW will be ironed out if not all and 4G LTE map will be wider. We might even see dual core/LTE beasts in the device like Bionic, Holiday too.

After some more thought, I'm leaning again to 4G phones vs dual core like 60/40. My biggest concern is to drop the data connection completely, be it 3G or 4G as some folks reported here. I'm ok with 4G/3G toggling as long as it doesn't lose data connection entirely. Early Charge user reviews on VZW, BB seem like hugely positive with rare mention of dropping data connection. So maybe some of our colleagues here got faulty ones unfortunately.

The killer for me is the file system. You and I both know it is a huge constraint and like putting dirty gas in a fine sports car. Fair analogy, since the Charge is generally a good device, marred by inefficient firmware.

The LG is still on my list- assuming it gets root as easy as the DX2. For folks used to slower 2.1 phones, the Charge is a step up.

But why is RFS issue if you can root the phone? You are talking about rooting for DX2 and Rev, but why not Charge? Plus international Galaxy S that just got updated to 2.3.3 is reported 50% faster than before. I guess gingerbread requires EXT4 or its own file system, so when it comes to Charge later I/O issue is resolved anyway.

If correct, folks that think the Charge is fast now, will pass out with shock in how nice it would be then.

That would be nice :) I'm impressed at how smooth the Charge is, coming from a WM6.5 device, its not hard to impress me though. lol
Using LPP, I'd say the device is as fast, if not slightly faster than my ipod touch 3rd gen. The only slow part is when the screen turns on, the screen and touch are delayed for almost 2 seconds before I can swipe in my lock pattern.

I'm having zero reception issues with my Charge. Did the update out of the box as well. GPS takes about 15 seconds to lock on.

I started having receptions issues again :S Still havent done the update, so I'm guessing that's not the issue.

I have another theory though. I'm actually way out of town now visiting some family, they only have 3G up here, slow 3G, but no 4G/LTE at all. I'm having PERFECT reception and data. In fact, I'm getting a stronger signal now than I used to on my old phone.
Theory is that the 4G/LTE in the Dallas area is having issues, or the network isnt quite standardized with the chipsets. The phone is having a hard time fighting for a 4G/LTE signal in the Dallas area and when it cant have 4G/LTE it gets upset and decides to go for no reception at all, basically internal issues with the 3G/4G. When I get back I'm going to see if putting it in CDMA only mode does anything for my reception issues. If it does, I may need to find an app that can turn 4G/LTE on and off with one click. Keep the phone in 3G unless I'm going to do something that requires more speed, then switch it over.
Another thing to note is that my phone has been off the charger for 2 hours now, and I've been using it a decent amount, 5 texts, 2 phone calls, a couple of apps for 10 min, and the battery is just now hitting 90%. The 4G/LTE signal absolutely decimates the battery life on this device. If I were in 4G/LTE reception, my battery would easily be at 80% or less. It tends to go down 10% an hour in 4G/LTE areas, and apparently gets double the battery life in 3G areas.
