Help reception

i I've heard the triumph had reception issues, where i live boost/vm gives us 1-3 bars on our phones. if what i heard is true wouldn't this make the phone pretty unusable, which is a no go. I'm shopping for one on ebay, but would like to know before i commit to buying.

bars mean nothing go by the decibels... dBm... That's more accurate. Where -120 is no signal and -60 is perfect signal. The MT compared to other VM phones (which uses sprint's network like boost) had very little or no change. So it really isn't any worse just people tend to base it off of the bars which isn't accurate.

Also even in areas showing 0-1 bars I have only dropped a couple calls in the last 6 months. The icon indicator is very misleading. My 3g speeds may not be anything great, but there is only one spot that I am at semi-regularly that I can't get a good enough signal (and it is way out in the middle of nowhere) to make/receive phone calls.

I don't think you will have a problem.

I have the MT, and my brother has the OV, pretty much everywhere we go, the OV gets on average 5-10 dBm better than my MT. This is usually indoors, so we aren't getting the best reception anyway. If we are outside, it's more like 3-5 dBm difference.

So if you have an OV, you shouldn't have a problem with the Triumph.

thanks for the replies, right now I'm at 106 dbm, so i second the signal thing because it's showing 2-4 out of five. I'm using a boost phone, my vm phone is usually 2 dbm higher. as long as i can place calls when needed and access the web with opera mini i can make due.
