Recharging

Newbie
I was told not to recharge my Samsung Galaxy SIII longer than 1 hr. Is this true? Does overcharging hurt the phone?

Told by whom? There are a lot of nitwits out there. If my Nexus 5 is below twenty percent it takes more than an hour to recharge.

If it were me, I'd probably email Samsung and go for an official answer.

I always charge my phone overnight. It probably only needs to be charged for a couple of hours, but you should be able to leave it plugged in overnight.

Just don't worry about what level or how long you charge at/for is my opinion and has worked fine for me.
Any fancy techniques you can be told to use will make such a negligible difference that they really aren't worth entering your radar (in my opinion) :)

Can you tell me how I post new messages? questions?

If it's a general question related to all devices, you can start a new thread in the forum you are in:
Android Lounge - Android Forums
Just hit the "New Thread" button:

If it's related to your device in particular, you can find your device forum and make a new thread there:)
Samsung Galaxy S3 - Android Forums

Or if you are not sure where to post, just ask us here and we can either direct you to the relevant forum, or we can move your new question to its own thread :)

You should probably start a new thread for questions like this ("new thread" button, blue, just above the list of threads when viewing the forum). And best in the android applications area for a question about an app.

That said, can you provide a bit more information: I guess it's the Navigation element of Google Maps you are asking about, but what specifically is the problem? Personally I always start from Maps, choose a destination, then tell it I want navigation to there, which works for me.

OK...now I see how to post a new thread. I also think you have answered my question. Maps seems to be what I needed. It shows my current location, I enter my destination, press start and it begins to talk, right? When I open the Navigation App I have to enter my location manually and I don't always know where I am...

Yeah, Navigation is actually part of Maps rather than a separate app, even if you have a separate icon for it (some versions gave a separate icon, some did not). So you can always get Maps to find your location and then tell it to navigate to there.
