Recommend a good Voicemail App

Does anyone know of or use a good voicemail app? I ask because the one that came installed and shows up as a standard icon on the home screen doesn't allow me to edit the phone number I call for my voicemail.

It has the *86 that seems to be standard, but I want to include the login password. I can do it only if I open up the dialer and long press 1. If I use the Voicemail icon, it won't dial the password.

Besides, using the voicemail icon still requires a second tap on "Call Voice Mail". I'd like an icon on the home screen that only requires one tap, but which also allows the password to work.

Suggestions?

Thanks.

I use Google Voice for voicemail on my mobile line. I don't have to dial to listen - just tap the GV app and you can listen to voicemails (plus usually read a transcript, though the transcripts are usually awful), plus you can opt to have transcripts sent by text message, email, etc.

It's a bit harder to set up on a Bionic compared with a 3G phone, but this site has all of the instructions that you will need:

How to set up Google Voice voicemail on the Motorola DROID BIONIC - Know Your Cell

GV is free to set up, and you have the added ability to make international calls at a cheaper rate using your GV number, have the GV number automatically ring all of your phones if you have more than one (i.e., your cell and home number) - but if all that you want is voicemail, you never need to use these features, either.

That doesn't work...not in my situation. It only works if I first open the dialer and then long press 1, which dials the voicemail server. It then inputs the password and works like I want it to.

When I bought my Bionic, it came with a voicemail icon on the home screen. Using it to access my voicemail will not dial the password.

Create an entry like #VM in your contacts and give it a number like *86,1234#1 where 1234 is the password

On the desktop long press until a menu comes up
Select Shortcuts
Select Direct dial
Select #VM

You now have an icon on your desktop that will do what you indicated you wanted.

Go to settings-call settings-voicemail settings then after *86 add pause pause your password and then OK. pause is under the *#( menu

dfib, that does not work with the voicemail icon that comes with the Bionic. I tried it a couple times. The password doesn't go through. It only works if I use the dialer and long press 1.
