I tries the mason kernel with decks 1.3d and it seemed a bit more fluid when scrolling but I had reboots when using Google maps, which I can't have using my phone for work. Tiamat 3.3.7 sbc is still flawless for me except for lag every once in a while
These are things I should know about.

I'll have to look into duplicating that bug.
As with anything there are a great many factors in choosing a kernel. But with the current state of roms available for the supersonic, I think one should always figure out what rom, or class of roms they are interested in and then move to the kernel once they are comfortable.
When you're at that point try as many kernels as you can, run them through their paces, and choose the one that is best for how you use your phone. Some issues with one kernel may not be issues with others because they don't use those features. As an example lets take bluetooth. I haven't messed much with the bluetooth stack at all in Mason, because I don't use it at all, wouldn't be able to test it, and could only base any development in that area on theory. But other developers may have, so another kernel might be better if that's something that important to you.
One of the great things about our device is we have plenty of options, which was in fact, the motivation for development of Mason in the first place. I wanted more options to be available, both for myself and everyone else. Hopefully this will continue to be the story of the evo, which is almost a infamous phone at this point, and hopefully we can still attract/keep enough developers to keep the supersonic habitat diverse and interesting.
