Accessories Recommendations for a car mount.

I would like a heads up on what you lot think is the best, simple and cheap car mount for the HTC Desire.

I see loads on Amazon and eBay for under a tenner but are they any good.

I got myself one of these a couple of months back. The charger even seems to output enough power to charge the phone while using the google maps nav.

I use this one and think it's perfect for using for calls or sat nav. Comes with a charger and the mount can be moved into every position you are likely to need (including horizontal and vertical):

I've just got some universal mount from a local phone store. Nothing special, but it does the trick.

However I will buy the official one when I get some money, it looks well worth it just for the simplicity of being able to dock it and not fiddle around with wires!

I'd like to see one that had car charger and aux audio connections that just clicks in place like you see with the iphone. Guess nobody makes those, huh?

I personally think those big pastic mounts are quite ugly, so decided to try this.
After using it for 4 month now, I am still very happy with it. Only downside could be that you need to attach a small metal disk to your phone. I personally do not mind it though.

I would have thought sticking your phone next to a strong magnet wasn't that great an idea, but I could be wrong...

I found one of these in Halfrauds, and it's actually quite good, as the front cupholder in my truck is just at dashboard level, so the phone is held quite high up and about 6 inches from my left hand. I can see the screen, and the car charger cable will hang down underneath far enough to reach the power socket.
The phone is also in the draught from the face-level cold air vents, so no problem with it overheating, as these only produce cold air or nothing.
Easily removed and stashed in a cubbyhole when I'm out of the car, so no extra encouragement for scrotes to break in.

The Desire fits perfectly and is very secure.
I use it with a HTC car charger, which incidentally charged my phone from 70 to 92% this morning after a 1 hour drive using Google Nav (with GPS obviously). It didn't get too hot either (I think it was at 33 oC).

Hope my twopeneth helps you with all the choices you've been given previously.
