Root Recommended SetCPU Profiles for Rezound?

For those who have a *rooted* Rezound, what are the recommended SetCPU Profiles that you're currently using? I'm running stock 2.3.4 Firmware by the way.

I just purchased and installed SetCPU and I'm trying to figure out how to correctly use it/set up profiles for the Rezound.

Should the "Perflock Disabler" setting be ENABLED?

Advice, suggestions and any info from other SetCPU users would be appreciated. Thx

UPDATE: Getting a black screen EVERY time I reboot (tapping the power button a few times eventually brings up the white HTC launch screen).....considering un-installing this app.

It is not a good idea to use set cpu with the rezound currently. It activates the second core to full power and leaves it on. This has been discussed in several forms online so far. Until we get kernel source set cpu is useless.

Edit: just noticed you were on stock GB. Don't know about set cpu with that.

I ended up REMOVING SetCPU. Will this un-due what you described above regarding the 2nd core and return it to default....or do I have to "factory restore" my Rezound???

setCPU is not useless. I have been using it since November with no problems. I used it on GB until I installed ICS about 2 months ago.

I did not check Perflock Disabler.

I run setCPU at max value, 1836MHz, performance governor, and have only 1 profile, ScreenOff, ondemand governor, where I set max=1512 and min=540. You don't want MIN to be too low or some background tasks won't have enough juice to run.

ive always been a big fan of setcpu,aND used it on the rezound with gingerbread. i havent used it with ICS becasue of the aforementioned issues,it defaintely didnt seem to do anything for me.

i would actually like to underclock my phone( ) if theyd get it sorted to work correctly!

I must admit, now that I think about it, I'm not sure I'm getting any speed benefits from setCPU on the CleanROM ICS and in the last 2 days my phone battery has been heating up drastically per discussions in other threads. So maybe tm1618 is correct in his assertion. Must ruminate now. =:-)

i figured that you were seeing benefits since your settings are pretty hardcore performance based. since you run it wide open at the max,it would stand to reason that running the 2nd core are full speed may not hurt you.

some experimentation on your part may prove interesting  id defiantely be very curious to see if battery life, speed tests or battery temps changed without it,or with some different settings.

I just froze setCPU and enabled CPU controls in ROM Toolbox. So far I don't see much of a performance difference. Battery usage has always been great for me with CleanROM 4.5.

I just ran SystemPanel App on my Rezound and under "CPU Activity" it only shows ONE processor running (see screen capture). Is this NORMAL or should their be TWO processors running at the same time for the Rezound?

i believe that is normal... unless you were doing something very processor intensive at the time of the screen capture. post back any other info you find :)

Thanks so much! Coming over from iOS for the past couple of years and getting used to Android has been a huge adjustment for me. At times, migraine-headache like. Thanks to your "rooting" guide, I was able to successfully root my Rezound - and eventually I would like to use "custom" ROMs but I'm confused as heck when it comes to those.....and honestly I'm afraid that I might brick my device.

Not sure if I should stick with stock and wait for the ICS update OR use a custom ROM that is currently better.

left4dead, I was the same way as you, I was wanting to hold on for the OTA but got tired of waiting. I used scotty's instructions to install newts onexxx ROM, which brings ICS, Sense 4 and the features of HTC EVO 4G and Droid Incredible 4G to the Rezound.

See the related thread here, "Best ICS ROM for Rezound?"

ICS is a lot smoother to make running a custom ROM worth it. If you are still conservative, you can run ConROM, which is essentially the de-bloated version of the OTA ICS update for the Rezound (blessed by HTC but yet to be released by verizon).

I was not aware of the setcpu problems with ICS. I am currently experimenting with letting JuiceDefender manage my CPU. It basically has the governors to let you save power. I am using the "conservative" governor, which supposedly saves slightly more battery than the ondemand.

On Newts One XXX rom, the tweaks app lets you set hidden HTC Sense Power saver options. One of the power options, when the low power threshold is reached, is to go to one cpu only running at 800 mhz. So that may be useful. I personally need something that is running all the time, to extend the battery throughout my work day.
