Help Recorded sound problem on playback

juddy

Newbie
Hi guys and gals,

I have just recieved a replacement one X phone as the first one i recieved had a problem with the stereo audio in recorded videos. When i went to play the video back it had a high pitch noise in the background. I thought a new one would fix the problem but it doesn't seem like it has. I still have the noise, albeit not as often. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this problem, or if it is just the way i am holding the phone? Is it worth sending it back again. I'm running it with the stereo audio disabled and it records fine. i can play all other audio fine, its just with video that I have recorded with the packaged software.

anyone? is the background noise fairly quiet with stereo audio recording with everyones elses or is there a bit of static type gain noise?

You've set the video to private, you can add me if you want/or make it public but unlisted. ElPrezidente81 if you want to add me to the list of allowed viewers. :)

no its the same.. sometimes it isnt as loud.. i have sent it back again.. hope the next one is better otherwise the blood pressure is gonna get higher!

Well went back to get my new phone yesterday.. went into the store and tried out the video and it seemed to work fine, but the store was noisy so it was hard to tell, went to the car and tried it there again and the same thing, still the noise in the background..

So i went back in, hoping they would open another and try it there, and thankfully they did, but same thing still happening..

So thats 4 phones with the same problem, all from different batches..

I have taken one with me which im using at the moment and have switched the stereo recording off. I tried to call HTC today but they were busy so am waiting for a call back.. I must be the unluckiest person in the world with this phone!!

Sorry, I just meant try it in store (not actually take one home) just to see if that picks up a hiss too?

Given you've tried 4 different phones all from different batches, I'm wondering if something else is afoot (although what I'm not sure).

So i spent about an hour talking to HTC going over the same thing multiple times (i really dont think the guy on the other end either cared or understood.. still cant work it out).

At one point he blamed the beats thing for interfering with it.. next he said i was doing something wrong, then he said it was a setting problem (everything as was when it was unboxed), then said that the stereo audio recording was picking up more sound with more sensitivity and was making the problem and that i should just use it with with stereo recording off (sorry i want a phone where everything works!), finally he said just send it back and get it replaced.. to which i said whats the point! Fark!

So i guess i will take it back and try another one.. maybe 5 will be the lucky number!

I have to go through the store.. got 30 days to send it back, so im going to wait 2 weeks and see.. maybe they will get some newer phones in the store..

hasnt really been another option until now.. on a side note... when you do video kinda close up, does the focus go in and out? Have noticed when i do video of my daughter from about 1m - 2m away that it seems to loose focus and a lot for about a second..

Yeah, I'd the same sort of thing, I recorded my son on a swing and it kept going in and out of focus. If you manually set the focus by tapping the screen before/during the video, that sorts it.

Am also having the same issue, hissing sound on stereo recording.
I think its a software issue rather than a hardware issue.
Hope it gets fixed in future software updates.
Please raise a support ticket at there website.

hi johnymon.. finally someone else with the same problem! Was beginning to think it was just me..

I have spent a lot of time with HTC on the phone about this issue and they are putting it down to a fault with the phone and to return it. I will be picking up my 5th phone next week. I dont think it is a software issue otherwise it would affect all phones.. i would take it back as a DOA if you have had it for less than 30 days..
