Help recover files from lost.dir

Okay so my internal memory was filled with videos, so I decided to move half to my sd card. A few days after, the videos I moved disappeared. Also, at the same time, a new folder named "LOST.DIR" was created, and was around 3gb large. Now I'm no tech-genius, but I'm pretty sure the "LOST.DIR" folder contains those videos. Is there ANY chance I can get it back without rooting, because I've heard that it gets super complicated. I've had no experience with rooting. Thanks a ton in advance.

Where in storage is the Lost.dir folder? In a file explorer on the phone, when you go into Lost and tap on say a video file, does it give the option to play it?

The LOST.DIR folder is in the *extSDcard* folder, which basically means it's in the sd card's root directory.. Unfortunately, the LOST.DIR folder just contains files named as random numbers, without any extensions..

You can access the root of your extSdCard anytime. You need Superuser access for the root of your internal one.
