Root Recovering a photo from wallpaper

baldrob

Newbie
I set one of my photos as my wallpaper and at some point I deleted that photo. I would like to get it back. Can it be done?

No idea how you can do it and get it direct, but if nothing else, you could make a backup, delete all the icons from the desktop, then screenshot each section. Then you can stitch them back together on your computer and restore your backup.

Go download Smart Recovery on your PC from this link:

PC Inspector Smart Recovery - CNET Download.com

I have used it to successfully recover deleted jpeg files from memory cards. Deleted files are often still there (unless they have been overwritten) it's just the directory structure for finding them that is gone. Of course, the more recently the file was deleted, the more likely you;ll be able to recover it. No guarantees, but it's definitely worth a try.

That wallpaper has to be stored somewhere in the system for it to display however I have no idea where

OK, now I feel "less dumb" for not being able to find it (where the wallpaper is stored). :) You'd think it would be an easy and obvious location. (I see someone later in the thread posted a solution, I'll have to check it out).
