Help Recovering deleted photos

A buddy of mine appears to have deleted an album instead a single picture. Has anyone found a way to recover the album that acutally works? I've tried multiple programs and haven't had any luck.

If it's on the external SD card, get a card reader, connect the card to a computer and use PhotoRec - CGSecurity

If it's on internal storage on the phone, and he doesn't already have a deleted file recovery app installed, no. Installing the app could write over the pictures he's trying to recover.

Old computer axiom - any file you don't have backed up to at least 2 devices is a file you don't really need. Stop looking for a deleted file recovery program and find him a good backup program. He's about to convert to The Church of Back It Up.
