Root [recovery] ClockWorkMod 6.0.3.7

that really has nothing to do with cwm. the problem with cwm is unknown till i get the test unit and play around a bit or someone else figures it out. the advantage of kernel source is the ability to make custom kernels with overclocking and what not but you cant get the source last i checked. ztes site sucks, nothing but broken links

side note:

this uses a source built kernel, here is the kernel source used

https://github.com/cooldudezach/android_kernel_zte_nex

youll wanna pull your config.gz and use that but custom kernels are now possible as well

sadly, i dont do kernels, but i dug up the source and it works with no trouble so hopefully someone can make something from it. and ill get to work finishing up cwm and start on cm soon

this is the booting cwm. i still never got my phone fully working... so i cant test it well and i do need to fix some things like usb mounting. also if someone could zip their clockworkmod/backup folder minus their data partition that woulf be awesome kuz i cant get this phone to boot to save my life
This is the CWM backup minus the data file. I flashed recovery and it boots into CWM fine, I made a backup and after putting a copy of it on my pc I tried to restore backup and it soft bricked, but it booted back in recovery and I had to go to "advanced restore" and restore each option one at a time and now it's fine.

Just un-zip into your clockworkmod/backup folder.

ill need the folder name those files were in, md5 mismatch unless the folder name is right. its date coded but down to the minute so i cant really guess it

nm i figured out how to create new md5s

i got my warp 4g up and running finally, seems cwm has trouble mounting though.

Sorry about that Dude, was not thinking when I zipped up files. Glad you figured it out.:) Yes, it boots fine, and yes it dous have a problem mounting. You are doing a great job, Thank you very much.:D Anything else I can do to help let me know.

well there is something else you can do actually. test the newest release ;)

same link as before, its in the first post of this thread if you need it. i tested mounting and unmounting of system, and restored a backup from a full system, data, and cache format. booted right up. there are issues with internal_sd, and a couple other partitions but those are mostly unnecessary, external sd works perfectly as does system, data, and cache it seems though it would be nice if someone verified a full wipe(factory reset) works

also i still havent gotten usb mounting working though it didnt ever work on the zte force either so im not sure whats going on there, ill look into it when i get the chance but for now its usable as far as i can tell

I will be glad to give it a go later when I get off work, thanks again for all the time you are putting into this.

its no trouble at all. hell ill need it myself lol. and i want more interest in zte development, not enough people bother to work on these low end devices, look at the zte force, 2 roms, one of which is the work of 1mouse3 and i.

my current goal is to make sure all zte devices at least have a custom recovery, that way they can get custom roms, and the more the zte community grows the more devs will want to work on them. there are few devs that actively seek out zte devices to work on, and theyre good hardware for the money just crappy software

If anyone wants an OC kernel, the work is already done for ZTE Awe and well tested. Myself and cooldudezach have put together something. Its an easy port since you guys share the SAME source package as them. I just need a boot.img so I can swap zImages.

good stuff. hold on ill get you the original boot.imgs for this and the zte source which should have a cwm and section by the end of the day hopefully

Custom roms and themes would be great. I am coming from the zte warp, the first one, it is heavilly supported by the community. Some of the best devs I ever knew. And some very talented themers. I am trying to stir up some interest with some of those guys.

yea ive already hit up dm47021 and let him know ive got cwm working. hroark im pretty sure is still on hiatus, i know shinru has been really busy with work, and i dont reqlly know what the rest of the og warp crew is up to. never had one, i just know the ones that helped with the warp sequent. im sure now that we have a cwm devs will show themselves though

i have plans to setup device trees for all zte msm8930 devices, and a -common tree also. I will get on irc and hit up hroark and see if he can come back and help. we need all the help we can get

I was originally gonna move to the Boost Force in a cpl wks but now that our Mann Junkie has Cwm up and running, I'm thinking of just going for the Warp 4G as it's got a better camera and HD capabilities. After Cwm is tweaked to perfection there'll be No-Holds-Barred! WHOO!!:cool:
Did I ever mention that Junkie's the Man?! Great job, bro!

My only curiosity is wondering WHY the Force has a better CPU processor than the Warp 4G who's running HD display?? :banghead:

I've had the phone for few days now and I highly recommend it. This coming from someone who said he would never buy another ZTE product after my struggles with the original WARP.
Also there's a seller on Ebay letting them go for $99 with free shipping. At that price I had to give it a go. And it is well worth the money. There is post in the non-root section for the link.

Glad we have Root and Recovery.... now let the ROM's cometh.
