Root recovery mode only

my ms323 only boots to recovery i have philz cwm installed. but no access to fastboot or system boots. ive tried restoring the laf to no avail and even tried flashing cwm stock. im at a loss please help me
 
Are you using your own LAF or someone elses? I know some people errored in the LAF Restoring Process so the LAF Is blank. Are you using Stock? If so just look at the LG L70: All thing Root post in the top. At the bottom of the thread there is some for the MS323. Then unlock the bootloader oncemore.
 
its says failed to copy 'laf.img' to '/sdcard/' : Is a directory
/sbin/sh: su: not found

check your device, that means you did not let adb access your phone, check supersu, it might have denied it since you didn't respond. check your screen.
 
You try using this command
adb push \path_to_laf_img\laf.img /data/laf.img
adb shell
su
dd if=/data/laf.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/laf
disconnect phone, power off, and try boot to firmware upgrade mode
 
ive gotten aroma file manager now. is there a way i can install supersu or superuser from it? or can anyone advise me on restoring root priviledges to the device??? Any help is apreciated

Install the superSU zip from here:

http://download.chainfire.eu/396/SuperSU/

That should get your rooted.

**You need to have an SDCard***

Goto Mounts and Storage ->

Click USB Mount.

PhilZ will read the SDCard so you can move a zip from it. It's a life saver when you don't have an adapter..

i did try that and download mode restored. sadly now i get when i power on. i know as fact that wheni bought it it wasnt encrypted, also that i didnt encrypt it. i was reading about possible reasons and near as i can figure its a problem with 1 or more partitions.

Reflash stock from download mode from the flash tool again. (it will get rid of the extra partition since it wipes /system and resets the partition table)

Download Tool (follow the guide!)

Stock KDZ's (use 10b if you want to get rooted again)

Then guess you have no choice than to send it to MetroPCS. Just say that it got randomly encripted. The warrienty will probably not be voided since your bootloader is relocked. It's a little cheaty. But since you have stock and download mode. They won't suspect a thing.

(All phones have a 1yr warranty even without service but only if it malfunctions)

Just say it malfunctioned :p you'll get your money back or get a new L70.
