Root Recovery question?

So I am still learning to use clockwork recovery and wanted to ask a few questions because I think I just killed my cm7 set-up. I flashed to cm7 using clockwork recover 2.5 and made a back up for safe keep and then I flashed to cm6 to play around with it. Now I was planning I keeping icarus 1.1,cm6,and cm7 so I can flash in between roms to demo to a close friend of mine. When I tried to flash my recovery of cm7 from cm6 it gave me a mismatch error. Could this be because of the fact I changed the recovery file's name to cm7 or because I need clockwork 3 to flash back to cm7.

I'm not sure I worded all that correctly if any confusion please ask and I will try to clarify.

The other question I have is can you change the recovery roms file name or does this corrupt the data

Okay. Since you want to keep Icarus you should keep CWM 2.5 as it works for all 3.
You can change the folder name but not file names. I have 5 backups Icarus,CM6, CM7, and two testing backups. They are on your sd card under clockworkmod> backup.
And I have backed up using 2.5 and restored using 3.0.2.4.

I made a back-up for cm7 using 2.5 and when I tried restoring it It gave me a md5 mismatch error? I flashed to cw 3.0 and I am making back-ups.

Update:nothing but errors when trying to retore back ups made with cw 3.0, trying it with 2.5

It sounds like it's not writing properly. Try unmounting your sd card, taking it out, pouring it back in (make sure it clicks) and trying again.
