Root Recovery

i had Acer recovery installer installed, which then led to installing CWM recovery, which the recovery was supposed to automatically download, but wasnt working right

Bear in mind that I rooted and installed a recovery when on Honeycomb. Because you said that Acer Recovery Installer wasn't working, I looked in to it a little and I've read that you cannot install a recovery on ICS without having an unlocked bootloader.

What I'm suggesting is using the afterota tool to flash an unlocked bootloader that comes with a custom recovery. Once you have the custom recovery on your tablet, then you would be able to flash a ROM. You would need to put the ROM on the root of your SD card before flashing the bootloader/recovery, so that you can flash it as soon as you have them :)

Would you be so kind as to look up a good one is. I would, but i trying to fiddle around with the afterota because know it is saying error connect USB and enable USB debugging which are already done. SO if you could look up a good unlocked bootloader and a custom rom that would be well appreciated!

Thanks again for your time,
Ben

If you head here and go for the first one (which is deodexed/full root) as a ROM and here for the V8 Unlocked ICS Bootloader with Thor's recovery.

Please note that I haven't used the afterota tool like this and am basing all of this on what I've read in the thread on XDA.

It didn't work! I don't know if i did something wrong or if i did it right. But the stupid recovery thing didn't work. I followed these steps:
1- SELECTED RECOVERY/BOOTLOADER
2- INSTALLED/FLASHED THEM TO MY TABLET
3- THEN IT SAID RESTART THE TABLET, THAT EVERYTHING WAS SUCCESSFUL. I RESTARTED IT AND LOADED INTO RECOVERY MODE. IT DID THE SAME THING AS BEFORE; IT LOADED TO THE ERROR ROBOT.

Replied in the thread again.

Sorry I didn't get back to your PM last night... I'd already crashed, as it was gone midnight :)

Sorry that this hasn't worked. I thought that you should be able to use the afterota tool to do this... there is another possible answer... I will have to get back to you later though (in work at the moment) :)
