Root Recovery

Could someone please give me a link that has specific steps on how to Nanddroid backup and how to boot the Venice into recovery? I used ROM toolbox to boot into recovery. When the phone rebooted the Android icon was laying on his back with a red exclamation point in his chest. I didn't know what the hell to do, so I tried various button combinations and eventually found an option to wipe data and start over. Not what I wanted to do. I know there's a detailed guide somewhere on what buttons to press to get into recovery and do Nanddroid backup I just can't find it. Anyone have a link?

There is no recovery yet, if u still have the screen in the some more just push the some button."down + power " and it will reboot and let go, it will start up again
