Yeah, but that explanation was way too involved, so I tried a short-hand version first.

Sort of a noob question but this is a 15mb file but where does it get saved exactly? Does it use up the internal memory of the phone or does it use 15mb of the SD card? Will it have an effect on the phone once its fired up?

internal. no effect on the phone except for eating up space.

personally, i use root explorer to copy/paste boot animations with a few clicks.

This is a converted version of "Red Rage" v0.3 to all blue. All credit goes to original author. The file size is around 50 megs (very large for a bootlaoder) so use at your own discretion. bootanimation.zip
