red X on charging

Tablet now shows red x on charging icon. Had same problem a few months ago but then it was fine all by itself, now its starting up again it only charges when tab is off. It doesnt matter how I charge , result is the same. Anyone else out there with this problem

Are you using the wall charger which came with it? Non-OEM chargers often trickle charge which could be slower than usage if you are charging and playing at the same time.

I lost my OEM charger within a month of buying the tablet and have not found one that doesn't show the x yet. Even a 2amp 800mah charge doesn't seem to work, nor a 1amp 600mah

As far as I know Samsung's charger have bridged data pins which additionally are floating at a voltage level of 1.2V

IMO you won't find a generic charger with this "tuning"

I'm having the same Red-X problem.

Using OEM cable & outlet plug that came with the Tab 2.

It also happens when I use the OEM cable plugged in to another outlet-mounted USB charger which has worked without fail for the past 8 months.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Look at the Tab's and the cable's microUSD port for dirt, fluff or bend pins.
And you'd try another (OEM) cable.

Yep, that was the problem. A new cable did the trick.
