Help Reducing space used by apps

tutmarie

Newbie
I'm really happy with my Desire, except for the very limited internal storage for apps. I'm not sure I'm up for rooting just yet, so I'm looking for other ways to reduce the space used by apps.

For example, I can see that, in addition to Friend Stream which I like and use, my list of programs shows both Facebook and Facebook for HTC Sense. Facebook is listed as a downloaded program, so I may have downloaded it at some point although I don't remember it. So I could probably uninstall it and gain almost 6mb there. This wouldn't affect Friend Stream, right? How about Facebook for HTC Sense? It's listed in the programs list, but I don't seem to find an app by that name when I use my phone. It only seems to contain data (about 1.25mb) - what happens if I delete that?

TIA, tutmarie

Thanks for the helpful answer. I HAVE done a search but was unable to find an answer re Friend Stream - but if you could direct me to a relevant thread, it would be even more helpful.

Facebook is from the market. Since you also have Facebook for HTC sense, you can easily uninstal Facebook via the market with no ill affect
