Root [REF] THE Battery Calibration Method!!!

LDrifta

No Stranger 2 Danger
ok, this is not MY work or research but it's something I tested in my own way and it works 100%!!! SERIOUS THANKS to zeppelinrocks from xda, here is the link to original post, but i will provide MY personal method (which is basically the same) lol

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=11803458&postcount=10

ok so here's what I did...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1: Charge device fully to 100%
2: leaving the charger plugged in, press and hold power untill power menu pops up
3: now select 'restart' and wait for device to power itself off
4: as soon as the device turns itself back on and you see the 'LG' logo apear, pull OUT your battery!!!
5: a. if the device continues to power on, then follow the steps provided in the Original Post by zeppelinrocks lol
b. if the device shuts itself OFF after pulling the battery, then put it back in (still leaving the charger connected the whooooole time)
6: now after the power-off charging screen shows up, press and hold power button untill screen goes blank, then just wait 5-10 seconds untill device powers itself back on, now your battery should be at something lower than 100, like 80-ish lol
7: charge fully and repeate if neccesary!!!
again huge thanks to zeppelinrocks for this method, i got like 5 hours back on my device thanks to him!!!
So wait, what exactly is this supposed to accomplish? Increase battery life?
yes.. IF your battery needs calibrating.. i was only getting like 9 hours a day and i used to get at least 14-15 hours with steady usage.. so i tried this out and got like 30% back.. and now my phone lasts all day agian!! :D try it out man
Well I will when I get a chance although I already get 13-15 hours of battery haha
Does this work with stock battery, and what ROM are you using where you get 14/15 hrs of steady use from?
I tried this using stock zva rooted and stock battery and it still read 100% charge after the final reboot.
I read the xda post... and its says to erase the batterystats first.. then the reboot steps. Are we missing that step in your post?
i suppose.. i only skipped it because i didn't have to wipe them, method worked for me as explained above.. i have an esteem though..
It worked for me without wiping anything. My battery went from full to 97% after it rebooted.
Mine did the same thing for about 3-4 reboots then on the 5th one it only went to 98% and took like an hour to get to 100% (mild exaggeration). But I deleted the batterystats.bin file manually and I tried the battery calibration app I have, not the one in the xda post so I don't know if that makes any difference but my battery seams to b draining quicker than b4, but maybe its just me, ??idk??. I think I'm gonna let it charge all the way up again and try it again after I re flash #2 again with a full wipe again and c if that helps. And I'll b back to post results after all the dust is settled. :-)
Oh no we have terrible battery's in our phones as well...lol lg really screwed the pooch with the battery's for our phones (esteem & connect) cause most everyone has been getting batt's for the motion,lucid,&viper to put in the connect just so they can get some extra use out of these phones without having 2 turn off everything. And thx by the way for sharing this info with us.
Something like this can also be done to revive completely dead batteries. I had a ancient Virgin Mobile Kyocera Wild_Card that I found lying around. It was completely dead and would not charge at all. I did something similar to this and got it to charge again.
Thanks for the tip Idrifta!
I got a brand NEW lg lucid battery for my connect and I decided to do this straight away and it went from 100% to 91% thanks drifta :)
