No I wouldn't say that there looks to be a physical kb because if you hold your Nexus S in the same angle you can reproduce this look and Im sure we don't have a hidden qwerty board somewhere on this device lol.

I don't think that this would be going through the FCC if it wasn't going to be used in the US.

Maybe it's updated hardware to resolve some of the issues the hardware has with the OS. This link talks about how there are quite a few NS owners upset about problems. One quote from a Google employee states that they are getting close to the root cause of the issues and that they're testing it out. Maybe the i9023 is the result... Just a thought.

The FCC is for communications devices used in the US. Even if it was the latter though the phone is made by Samsung in South Korea, not in the US. Plus, the FCC filing in this case is for use of T-Mobile USA's bands, which pretty much confirms that it's going to be used in the US.

However, it could just be for a testing device by Google to try to resolve problems with the current Nexus S and may not actually be released on a large scale. Even if it's just for one phone it would still need to be filed with the FCC if it's going to be used with US communications towers.
Ok, to once and for all stop this thread, read this. It's in Dutch, I know. It says that they sell the Nexus S i9023 Black Silver, that it will be released (here in the Netherlands) in 7 weeks, and if you look at the specifications, it says TFT display. It also says Dutch language and menu's.
On the same site, they already sell the US version (imported) for a high price. So there is a difference.
I hope this clear things up.

By the way, logical thinking would bring you to this conclusion in the first place. If you realise that the US and the UK are not the only countries that want the Nexus S, and if you realise that there is a shortage of S-AMOLED's, and that because of that most countries will get a Super Clear LCD version, it is not very odd to think that this new model number is the Super Clear LCD version, right?

It is funny though that not a single website thought of this. Only one or two Dutch websites. It is very logical, and I thought of it in the first place when I had read about the i9023.
