Root regain root after ota - HTC Droid DNA

P1DroidX

Newbie
I have Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper and it kept the root access through this last OTA update, but it did not allow any more applications to be added to the SU log, so I tried to temp-UN Root, now i can not regain root.

My Bootloader shows S-OFF

SuperUser apk in installed, tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but it wiped the apks that had previous access to root :(

Voodoo shows Protected su copy available, and /system supports root protection, but when i hit restore root it locks the phone UI and then nothing, comes back after about 10 seconds and root is not restored.

current Android version 4.2.2
HTC Sence version 5.0
Software number 3.06.605.4

I am not using any ROMS, my experience with the boot loader is very limited, I can follow directions and figure some stuff out, I have rooted my old DroidX and my NEW DNA.... I tried to read some of your other forums and will continue to do so, Thanks for any pointers in advance.

rooting to 4.2.2 requires a new way to access, moonshine is now rumrunner get it at rumrunner.us

**make sure you get the Download that is for the DNA**

Uses SuperSU instead of SuperUser

Attempting to restore root to my phone.

Failed at second fastboot...

MSG: FATAL: Download updated package at www.rumrunner.us

:/

I was failing out of the rumrunner update because my phone was already S-OFF.

I had no recovery installed, so I had to install one.
I installed TWRP 2.5.0.0 recovery.

In order to get root back I had to flash a custom ROM with root:

For any problems that may occur, you can re-flash the STOCK 4.2.2

Back up and running once again! Hope my experience helps someone.
