Help Regarding the OTA and factory reset

I got a new Incredible in the mail today. I synced my contacts and set up my google account and then installed the 2.2 OTA. Should I perform a factory reset or is it not necessary?

If that is all you did, then no. Contacts and your google account are fine. Problems arise from downloaded apps, tweaks, settings, etc.

I was part of the party already

This is my second Droid Incredible.

I was out in Pennsylvania yesterday, trestle jumping into a river. My phone was sitting on my extra pair of clothes and ended up sliding off and falling through the railroad ties. It took a plunge and is now sitting 25 feet under some river. My phone, extended battery, and modded white case all gone. :/

I called Asurion last night and I got my new one in the mail today!
