Help Region Lock Status!!!

Hi Guys

I got Note 3 region locked ( eu ) as a gift. Outside of eu, they tried to unlock it but they couldn't.

Now they (owner of gift) will send it back to uk and I will make 5 min call. But I am not sure its gonna unlock, they might already unlocked unsuccessfully and might not work 5 min calls.

So can I check the status of region lock if is still locked after 5 mins of calls?

I have n9005 I bought it in Pakistan and I have a doubt its unlocked version. As some one told me. Can you goto settings>general>about and tell me your base band, kernal and build number.
