Root Reinstall ATT Apps

I accidentally uninstalled my music player. Where can I get the installable for this and/or other system apps?

Find custom rom of the same version as your current rom. That is, if your phone is eclair, find an eclair custom rom. Unzip it and find the music player apk.

You can't install system app, so you are going to need to put it in the /system/app folder manually using either root explorer or adb

While I'm thinking about it, has anyone ever installed system apps from one phone manufacturer to another? Would that be suggestable or even work?
