Release date is July 31st

There are already a few previews posted in youtube, which I believe are posted in the "reviews" thread.

But the full blown reviews I'm not expecting until after the 29th or 30th (after the Premier customer early release).
 
Ok, question. That article from Video Gaming Pros talk about pre-ordering from Amazon. When you click on the link it shows where you can pre-order and get free 2 day shipping. So is this 2 day shipping from the release date of July 31 meaning Ill get it on Aug 2nd? Or does it ship Thursday like it would by ordering from Sprint being a Premier member?
 
It will be August 2. They sell the phone the day like everyone when it is release to the general public. Only Sprint does the 3 day presale thing.

Good catch, Sprints marketing team obviously thought they needed a realistic looking lens. I just looked at several devices and none of them say zoom.
 
I went back to the Sprint Store near my job at lunch today, and I spoke to someone who seemed to know what he was talking about.

He said there is no delay. The phones will be in the stores on the morning of July 31. They will not be delivered to any stores before the morning of July 31.
 
Who is delivering on Sunday? FedEx and UPS do not.

The person probably meant they're not "opening" the boxes until Sunday. From my past experiences on upgrades, back to when I got my Touch Pro, the actual shipment usually gets in a couple days before and the stores scan the items for inventory, prior to the "official" release.

100% correct there is no delay.

He was very specific that the delivery itself would be on the morning of the release.

He said it in response to me asking if there would be any way to mess around with one in the store before release day, so I guess it is possible that he just said it to dissuade me from coming in on Friday or Saturday and trying to push the staff to pull one out for me, but in my opinion he was sincere.

Feel free to draw any conclusions you want :)

I mentioned it before, but the mgr at the Sprint store I go to said to call on Friday night. He said they'd be in by then, if they were going to get any.
 
Same here, might be there Thursday afternoon. He usually lets me check out new phones in the break room, so no one else sees them. (At least that was the case with the Pre and the EVO 4G)

I'll be stopping by Friday to get the speaker replaced on my Pre one last time, (the 3rd time), before "putting it out to pasture", as an mp3 player, on Sunday. Hopefully the shippment will be in and I can check.one out.

If that happens, I'll be sure to check in here later.... :-)

I do recall one member last year got to see and touch the EVO 4G the day before they were being sold by the manager of one of the stores, can't remember who that member was, but I do recall this happening before.

I was one of them....lol. The manager basically put his phone on the counter and said...technically, I can't show you this, but I need to check some stuff in the back room...then he proceeded to leave,the phone on the couner for me to mess with.

That was about a week b4 release.

The Echo, Nexus S, and Evo3D were all in stock about 4 days prior to launch day, but were not to be opened or even breathed on prior to launch.

You might be able to take a peek at the demo phone the day before, but Sprint is pretty strict about releases at the corporate stores. Locally at least.
 
....all depends on who you know, and how well. ;-)

Well a few hours from now we will be F5'ing the crap out of our keyboards to get the link to premier orders. Really curious how this pans out.

AHHHHHHH. I'm so freakin excited to get my hands on this phone I cannot stand it! The wait is killing me. I probably wont get mine till Tuesday next week. worth it to save the money, but damn I am counting the minutes.

And this will be my FIRST android phone, and my FIRST time getting a truly top of the line phone right when it comes out.

I am upgrading from a 9630 BLACKBERRY. I can not wait to unload it for 50.00 on eBay and pick up some accessories for the PHOOOOOTOOOONNNNN baby.

so stoked.

this should probably be in the "wheres the excitement" thread, but I am too excited to think about that right now.

WHERE ARE THE FREAKIN REVIEWS!!!!!!????
 
At my last trip to the Sprint store for some more questions the sales rep was setting up the dummy unit. Unfortunately, it had already been inserted into the clamp that mounts it to the countertop so I wasn't able to hold it, but it is a nice looking device!!
