Root [Release] OC EXT4 Kernel

I switched to the Xperia Play (1.4 GHz Stable) a while ago, but if I can restore my Samsung Admire to a working state, I may just have to give this a shot.

It's working for everybody else who has posted in this thread, so good work mate. :D

EDIT: Officially have my Samsung Admire back up and running. Had to use Odin to restore a stock image, so I guess I've got my work cut out for me.

yea i couldnt make it work on that rom either. ill repack an image in a bit and see if i can get it running for you
if you get me the boot.img from whatever rom you're using ill pack you up ther kernel.

its not that simple. a nandroid backup keeps everything backup, contacts and all that good stuff you wouldnt want strangers to have. in order to post up a nandroid for this it would require someone to freshly install a ROM and then back it up or for someone to backup their ROM and then re-flash the ROM to clear away their private info and then back it up. its a simple but tedious long process.

I 4got bout dat u r rite. OK PLS send a fresh boot.OMG wit no personal data make sure its fresh! :D hopefully dats a Lil clearer ;)

i have absolutely no idea what was just said. and i guess i could just go download the other roms and do it myself. but im far to lazy, my internet is far to slow, and i dont think the other roms are worth running anyway. (besides cm7 which this kernel works with afaik)

its easier just to keep it as a flashable zip and have users flash it if they want to try it at their own risk

Thanks working just great alongside the CTmod ROM.

OC'd at 1ghz..

Stable at 1.2 also but im staying at 1ghz just to be safe.

Going to try 1Ghz when I get home, set up a swap partition of 256MB ;), then compile ICS. We'll see where we can get with this...

Swap is a special partition used by Linux (Android is based of the Linux kernel) as extra ram ;) Spz0 said that we should pop 256mb of more for ICS, a swap partition is the answer :D

we'd need a kernel that supports swap partition though which we dont have. I believe Cogra147 may be trying to port over the KoumaKernel that goes with CTMod and I know that kernel supports swap partition
