Release Time & Backup Question.

Everybody keep trying you'll get it.

doubt it. the 16 is sold out and i keep trying for the 8gb but all i get is errors. I'm guessing at this point I'll see errors for 15 minutes then it will just switch back to coming soon. I wanted to order 2 - 16gb, and 3 - 8gb for the whole family. If i can't get it in the next couple weeks, i may go with different phone out of spite.

Actually who am i kidding, i'll wait like a sucker until it becomes available

I think there might be come truth to this technical fault thing. I've just tried to buy the bumper thing and it's failing on that too.

16g. Looks like we all had good timing cause the 16g is now out of stock.

I don't know the exact time, but it seems like they sold out in about 40 minutes. Would love to know how much stock they had for launch.

Also, I'm noticing something weird about shipping. In the order processing, it said shipping was 2 day, but in the email confirm it says 3-5. I think it is 2-day, but I'm not sure now.

Either way, hope everybody got in. Weird how it went online at 11:30 est instead of noon.

I CAN'T BELIEVE they released it 30 minutes early. It's like they were intentionally trying to screw people who weren't obsessively hitting f5. If I hadn't had Page Monitor running, I would have missed it for sure and I would be fuming.

Man Google really effed this launch up. You don't take pre-orders, AND you're not prepared to handle capacity for ANY of your launches??? Pathetic. I have no idea if I got one. I got dozens of errors, no confirmation or order number, but Google Marketplace pre-charged my CC. How is it 2012 and one of the leaders in technology, a truly global corporation, can't handle their own product launch?

Got an order through for the 16GB. After placing the order it said there's a problem with your order, contact google but I can see the charge pending on my Discovercard and it's impossible to reach the playstore by phone. order looks fine in the playstore now but I didn't get an email yet.
Such a joke, it's unbelievable they have so many problems selling a god damn phone. Somebody should be fired!

I spent the last 40 minutes trying to get a phone. Talk about a cluster-*uck.

I have one pending credit card transaction, but no confirmation information. It did error out after I picked my card and address...so only time will tell.

I am stuck in the ultimate limbo, and I don't like it.

UK sellout was FAST. That was unbelievable. Still no phone. B#stards.

I tried over 50 times, just errors, errors, errors. It was luck

For those of us that missed it, when do you think it'll go back on sale? Same time tomorrow? Next week? I really have no idea

Yeah I got that problem with my order deal through google wallet and it never said that it went though. It would be nice if it did and I just got an error for some dumb reason. Ugh.

Are they sold out already?

This is like living through Hurricane Sandy ... holding your breath while it passes and then just waiting for the damage estimates.

this HAS to be for marketing! they didn't take preorders because selling out the first batch of preorders doesn't cause hype. They could have launched at 3:00am eastern and the server demand would have been infinitely less with more real fans getting in. Instead they waited till just before noon for maximum effect.

The order system probably has some sort of threshold that shuts down the ordering process. If available inventory drops below a certain point or a certain number of orders are in queue to process it most likely is set to revert to the "coming soon" state.

I hear the frustration of everyone having problems, but since Google doesn't have brick and mortar stores, I can't think of a better way to do it.
