Reliable Screen Unlock

So I've had my G$ since release day. Love it to bits, well, once I put nova launcher and swiftkey on anyway

My query is this.

I've come from using samsung phones, and i'm finding the double tap to unlock on the G4 a bit hit and miss.

I had a look around for the G3 gesture settings that would give me some insight, but I can't find them.


Are double tap and power button the only choice of screen wake up?

Yes, double tap and the power button are the only ways to turn on the phone at the moment. You could download a third party app that uses your sensors to turn the screen on lets say while pulling your phone out of your pocket.

If there is an alternate way i haven't found it yet.

I had the G2 before i had the G4 and i find that a slower double tap works better than a faster one.

I also found a slightly slower double tap works better for the G4 than on the G3. Once I found the sweet spot in speed, it works perfectly. I almost never touch the power button (unless rebooting).
