Root Relock bootloader

So I have a huge problem with my nexus 5. I have rooted my phone before successfully but then wanted to unroot to update my version. I tried a root only app to see if it was unroofed, it was. But my boot loader was still unlocked. I searched up many different sites to fix it but they all involved plugging it into my computer. I tried it but my computer didn't see my phone when if was plugged in. I installed the drivers and possible everything I could find, but still doesn't see it. The gist of it computer doesn't see my phone when plugged in with drivers, boot loader is unlocked (and I want it locked) what am I supposed to do!

I don't think an unlocked bootloader affects ota updates. It's more the fact of the phone being rooted and/or any system modifications that will prevent it or cause problems.

You may want to flash a factory image and then take any ota updates available.

But my phone isn't allowing the update, I download it fine, then when it reboots to instal, it just says error in the middle of my screen

If you are getting an error while installing OTA, please share details of the exact error message.
Usually, the reason for OTA installation failure is that your software isn't completely stock. Having an unlocked bootloader in itself will not cause OTA installation failure.

So, here's what you can do - try to identify what system files you modified after rooting. If you can't remember any, you will need to revert back to stock (download the stock images from google, and flash it. If you don't want to wipe user data, extract system.img from the stock image, and flash only that).

You indicated that you are unable to see your phone on your computer - a recent update in Windows caused the Nexus 5 to show up as ACER device - if so, right-click the Acer ADB device and uninstall it Then unplug the phone from the computer, and plug it back in again. Windows should re install the correct driver for the Nexus 5 by itself (if not, install the USB drivers from google - Google USB Driver | Android Developers)

Also, do you have a custom recovery installed? If so, you should download the OTA.zip file and flash that in your custom recovery, instead of letting it install on its own.
