Hi does any know how to remove or clear the "Addresses from Autocomplete List" in Gmail on a droid X? I would like to remove a few names as they don't exist on my phone anymore. Or just clear it to start fresh.
thanks

The picture i linked is just for reference so you can see what i am talking about. its not from the phone.

The addresses don't show in Gmail in a web browser only in Gmail app on my phone. When i compose an email and start typing a name it populates a list. I don't see it on any other email accounts i have on the phone like yahoo or personal one's.
It is quite baffling.

Anyone know of how to find this info via USB looking at the files on the phone itself? Maybe its just coded in a file i can delete or modify?

Try going to Settings->Applications->Manage Applications, scroll to the GMail app, select it, and the clear data. It will probably have to re-download all your emails after that, but it might clear the contacts from the auto-populate too.

Yea i tried that already cleared data and cache (did it twice) but they still show up. its like I have the addresses somewhere that i can't see. They aren't in my contacts. Wish there was a way to search the phone for the specific email addresses so i can find where they are coming from.

do you know how to look at the contacts via USB connection. Maybe open the file and modify the code inside. I have a weird feeling that even tho i deleted the contact the email address stayed some where in the phones contacts. Hidden some how.

Ok i found the contacts.html via USB connection. It happen to have hold phone info but not the email addresses. I was able to clean it up using notepad but still dumb founded by the email addresses.
