Root Remove Clock From Status Bar-DJ05

I know I already posted this in some of the themes I've done...but for those who dont use themes, or use other themes...I thought I'd bring it to your attention.

*Warning: Flashing anything can obviously screw your phone up, proceed with caution...I'm not responsible for anything that goes wrong*

This is a modded services.jar in cwr flashable zip. It will remove the clock from your status bar if you are running DJ05 only...if you are on DI01 there is a thread on xda with similar files.

*Most themes have not modified the service.jar for dj05...so this *should* work fine with them....however some (I believe Gingerbread) do, and it will undo some changes to those themes if you flash this. Just reflash the theme if you dont like the results.

All credit to CrushD from xda for figuring out the edits :)

Instructions: put on your sdcard....flash in cwr like any other zip :)

will it work with DL09

assuming the service.jars are similar....it *might* but really the only way to know is to backup and flash it

i could do it for dl09, but i despise its very existence and dont know why anyone is on it :)

well since I'm on the firmware of shame, I'll give it a shot and report back

i was looking for something like...cause i'm not themed...i figured that LaunchPro and custom wallpapers was theme enough for me.

plus i have FancyWidget (black)...so i dont need the status bar clock...

thanks!!

yeah the clock in the status bar is redundant if you use a clock widget of any kind...and some report screen burn in from having the clock in there if they leave the status bar unhidden and use it a lot...so hide the clock is my personal preference

yup!!

much cleaner...but wow mine took a while to reboot...i was stuck on the S screen for almost three - four minutes...i was about to pull the battery...but seems good now...

thanks!!

yeah any service.jar changes take up to 5 minutes to boot...but usually less...2-3 is normal

AND 09...so I figured it would work with EA28 too. Any help with EA28??

It was built for dj05 and I suppose it happened to work for dl09...I've never touched ea28 and I cant imagine many in the root community did...id advise going to froyo

It definitely works for EA28 also. I was trying to do 2 things at once, this and a battery file created with the online kitchen. Unfortunately the file created with the kitchen was the culprit.

I flashed back to DI01, did OTA update, flashed red clockworkmod and installed su-2.3.6.1+busybox1.19. Made a backup, then deodexed with xUltimate, backed up again, then flashed your file on cwm. Worked like a charm. Clock gone!

I had to do this 3 times because im a slow learner :D After id flash your file, id flash a previously downloaded framework-res from the kitchen and it would kill my 3G and force close like theres no tomorrow. For whatever reason, no matter what framework-res I got from the kitchen would do this. I eventually used a framework-res someone else had uploaded which works great. Anyhow, your file does indeed work with EA28.
