Remove full screen album art from lockscreen?

The best workaround I found was to use Smart App Lock. It can be configured to replace the default lock screen, it doesnt add anything extra to the lock screen, and it does not show album art in the background.
Any chance you could run through the settings you used to do this? I tried for quite a bit and no difference...

Thanks!

Another issue I have with the Music Player is that sometimes, it skips to the next song before the previous has finished playing. Is this just me?

Make sure you have the air wave technology for music skip turned off. Mine was doing that to until I did that. Settings > my device > motion and gestures >air gesture >air browse uncheck my music

Anyone got a solution to this yet ? I underrstand some people might enjoy this feature, but for me it makes the play music app unuseable. When I walk or run, the screen never locks fully, so it continually skips to the next song due to motion of the phone in my pocket. Walking is jsut annoying, skipping every now and then, but running it skips continually.

There is an option to "block songs with explicit lyrics" but nothing to disable the lockscreen. :/

Try electricpete's solution. It worked on my G2.

I had this problem in my lolipop s5 but now I use poweramp music player which has a seting to remove this from your lockscreen and replace it with a small and nice looking widget or completely disables it. It is also the best music player I have tried.

I'm gonna be honest I'm kind of disappointed I rooted my phone for pretty much nothing. When I had a 5th gen ipod touch cydia was so much nicer for modding my ipod. It's all packed into cydia and easy to find. On Android its freaking impossible to find simple stuff like this lockscreen music remover. People say oooh androids waayy better you can do literally anythingg on Android and mod whatevvvver u want but nope I'm not finding any easy solutions to this crap.

I think I found the solution.

You need to specifically disable all notifications from each music application individually.

Go into Settings -> Notifications or Sound & notification -> App notifications -> ( App Name ) -> Turn it Off

I did this with Spotify and it stopped showing album art on the lockscreen.
