Help Remove Google Account?

I had to set up a dummy account for my X when I first got it, and now I want to switch to a new one. I already got my contacts and everything transferred, but I can't switch over or remove the old account. Is there anyway to do this? I have a ton of paid apps and do not want to lose them. If I have to root I will.

Your paid apps are linked to your dummy account. If you change the phone's master gmail account, you'll have to re-purchase the apps.

I think, I'm not sure, you can add another gmail account to your email...so you could use your dummy account as your phones account and keep all of your apps and contacts there and then use your new account for your email.

Then you can export your contacts from your dummy account, import them to your new account so they're all there as well. You'll just have to remember to add/change/delete contacts in both when the time comes.

I am trying to add a Google Account to my Hero but I keep getting the error "cant establish a reliable data connection to the server". My data connection works fine. Any help?
