Remove or hide clock app while talking? (s3)

Hi all,

So I'm a new Galaxy s3 user, switched over from an iPhone. I can see if you like to customize your phone, this is the one for you. I am not that person, and little things are driving me crazy.

Whenever I'm on the phone talking, I guess my ear is hitting some part of the screen, because it constantly makes some little noise like a water drop. And then a "world clock" app is now over the phone keypad. It happens every call, and it's annoying when I'm trying to call somewhere that you have to enter numbers (like every support number, right?)

How can this app be removed, or shut off please?

Hi Dax3d, and welcome to AF :)

I don't know the S3 myself, but plenty here do, so if this is phone-specific hopefully someone will chime in soon.

What's odd though is that the proximity sensor should disable the screen when you hold it to your ear in a call. Can you test whether that is working?

To turn off the Sounds when you touch the screen go into your settings, then go to the "Sounds" menu, then look for for option called "Touch Sounds".

When making a call there is no world clock covering the phone keypad unless you open it yourself, in which case you can press the back button to close it

Hi, thanks for the welcome.

And thanks for the tips. I believe I had to adjust the proximity settings at first, because whenever I was on the phone, the screen would lock so quickly, and if a phone call required input on the keypad, I couldn't.

Like I mentioned, the clock is being opened while I'm on the call in the first place, and that's what I'm trying to prevent. I don't even see how it could be opened by my ear hitting the screen, where would that app open in the interface? Yet never fails, it opens up and covers the phone interface lol

Thanks

Me and my proximity sensor had a fight. The sensor won. I couldn't do anything on my phone fast enough before the screen would go dark.

It took me a while to realize my hand was coming in contact with the sensor so watch out for that. I now make sure my hand stays below the sensor.
